Ronulans and Hezbollah: Part 1
For a so-called libertarian, the Ron support-base exhibits some interesting behavior vis a vis Jews and the State of Israel. On one Ron Paul fan site, the posters have taken to posting articles from Al Manar.
What is Al Manar? Al Manar is the TV media outlet for HEZBOLLAH (also spelled Hizballah/Hizbullah). Hezbollah is the Iranian/Syrian backed terrorist group based in Lebanon. In the 80s Hezbollah was implicated in the bombing of the Marine Barracks (killing 241 sailors and Marines), bombings of U.S. embassies, countless kidnappings of Western journalists and other civilians, bombing a Jewish community center in Argentina in the 90s, and essentially pulling off a coup against the Lebanese government in 2008. The group still offers support (armed and logistical) to Iraqi forces attacking American/Iraqi troops. Hezbollah (ideologically and theologically) considers the U.S. to be the “Great Satan”. Hezbollah also supports the same form of government that exists in Iran: Velayat al Faqih. Needless to say, they are not the most “libertine” group.
Here’s a French documentary on Al Manar. Also, Avi Jorisch did some incredible research on the TV channel. Essentially, the station exists as a propaganda network for Hezbollah. The network was actually named by the Treasury Department as a “terrorist entity”.
There is another question as to why this propaganda piece matters to the average Paultard?—-It really doesn’t—-Al Manar’s goal is to delegitimize and spread propaganda (often virulently antisemitic) about Israel/Jews/the United States. These Paultards often buy into many of the Jew-hating conspiracies combined with their borderline psychopathy regarding the State of Israel (screenshots to come!) so it seems there is a dovetailing of interests.
